Peacock Carter's 4th birthday: fact #4 »
Continuing the theme of facts about Peacock Carter to celebrate our fourth birthday this week, here's number 4.
"Between us, we've had 8 books published and technically reviewed 4 more"
For those of you who follow us on Twitter, you'll probably be aware that Michael and myself have had quite a few books published through Packt Publishing.
Writing these helps to give us a good insight in to popular content management systems and ecommerce software such as Drupal and Magento; knowledge which is useful throughout any website project.
Michael's latest book is called PHP 5 Social Networking, and the last book I had published is called Joomla! 1.5 Templates Cookbook, though my latest book is due to be announced in the next few months.
Peacock Carter's 4th birthday: fact #3 »
After yesterday's revelation about our tea-drinking, today's fact to celebrate Peacock Carter's fourth birthday is less beverage-orientated and more work-focused.
"We've worked with clients including a Buddhist Abbey and UK government agencies"
We may be based in the North East, but if you've looked through our web design portfolio, you may have noticed that we have a wide range of clients, from local businesses to specialist development for MediaWiki for a university abroad to a Drupal website for a Buddhist Abbey based in Hexham.
Peacock Carter's 4th birthday: fact #2 »
As part of our 4th birthday this week, here's the second fact about Peacock Carter.
"In the average week, we drink 60 cups of tea"
It takes quite a lot of tea (and Twitter) to keep I'd say that wasn't enough!
Peacock Carter's 4th birthday! »
It's Peacock Carter's first birthday today, so this week we'll be posting a fact about us every day this week.
Today's fact is about our company's formation, way back in 2006:
'We were called Peacock, Carter & Associates when we were formed in 2006'
I promise they'll get (even) more exciting throughout the week!
Michael gives talk at web development conference PHPNW »
Earlier this month saw our head web developer, Michael Peacock, present a talk at the popular PHP North West conference for web development.
The conference, PHP North West (or PHPNW), was held in Manchester and attracted some 300 attendees.
The talk was entitled 'Abstracting functionality with centralised content': I'm told the talk was much more exciting than it sounds, though I'm still dubious!
Michael's talk was based on our company's experience of building content management systems, ecommerce websites and business software systems such as extranets.
And, in the meantime, if you'd like our help with any web development projects, I'm sure we can stop him talking long enough to give you a helping hand!
